Q: What is an overview of your program?
A: Youth soccer has two levels - D5, which is called different things by different towns but we call it rec or travel. Registration is open to all and equal playing time is given to players regardless of skill. These teams practice twice a week (days and fields are generally decided by the coach) and typically have a game on Saturdays. Practices in the spring start after the fields open (hopefully in early April but this depends on the weather). Age levels are 10U (which includes 9U players), 12U and 15U.
We also have competitive leagues, called D3 and D4. Our comp teams (9U, 10U, 11U, 12U, 13U and 15U) run from the Fall through Spring. Comp tryouts are in in June for the following fall-winter-spring seasons.
See our Tryouts/Program tab for other information or write our president and registrar, TJ Morelli-Wolfe at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Q: Tell me about kinder / Prekinder
A: Both preK and K soccer have one weekday session (you register for either Marlborough on Mondays, Andover on Wednesdays or Hebron on Fridays) and an optional Saturday session in which all players attend. The location of Saturday sessions will rotate between the three towns. The season will run from April 21 through June 10. A jerseys and a ball are included in the registration fee.
Q: Will I need separate uniforms for the spring?
A: No. Comp and Travel/Rec players can use the same jerseys every season and year and reorder only if it no longer fits, unless/until their team or the vendor changes uniforms. We are told Adidas and other vendors try to maintain the same uniforms for 2-3 years.
Q: My child was on a comp team in the fall. Do they need to try out again for the Spring?
A: No but they do need to register again for the Spring.
Q: Why is the registration fee for spring comp less than the fee for spring travel/rec?
A: Comp teams pay 75% of the full year registration fee in the spring and 25% of the full year fee in the spring.
